"My homelife is serene. I think in this life stage, I really enjoy and appreciate having my own space. Having the time to do what I love."
- Sri Widowati
How would you describe your home life in one word?
It is serene. Now my children are already young adults and living abroad. So, there are only my husband and I at home. I think in this life stage, I really enjoy and appreciate having my own space. Having the time to do what I love. I can choose to do activities that I am fond of. Like during this quarantine, I would run, read a book, and even find relaxation through learning new things, such now I am learning to play the piano.
What is your morning routine to set up your day?
For sure I start the day by making a good cup of coffee. In stressful times, I like to blend and diffuse essential oils, and sometimes I also meditate.
"Our relationship grows when they experience tough times and I am consistent with my choice to let them find their own choices."
- Sri Widowati
How do you maintain your relationship to stay strong with your daughters who are living abroad?
We build this relationship over time, since they were little girls, even starting from when they were a baby. This is not a one time thing. There is a mutual trust in which came from always being supportive of their decisions. Sometimes their decisions are not right and they make mistakes, but I am letting them figure it out on their own. Our relationship grows when they experience tough times and I am consistent with my choice to let them find their own choices. It is interesting to see that from letting them decide their life, they become reflective and eventually learn to make the right decision on their own.
